KAT'S BIO
Welcome and thank you for visiting my website. If someone were to tell me that I would be creating OOAK dolls, I would have told them their crazy.
My interests growing up were to go into Criminal Psychology/Forensics as my major and my minor was Theology. I went to Liberty University and recieved my 4 year degree. I met up with a Private Investigator named Pat Rutherford who owns and operates a company called "WORLDWIDE TRACERS". I went to work for him and fell in love with my work. The LORD gave me an opportunity to do HIS work for my boss who is also a Christian man. I have solved over 1000 + cases and have also appeared on TV shows such a "48 HOURS", had my cases appear on "UNSOLVED MYSTERIES", TRUE DETECTIVES", "OPRAH", SALLY JESSE RAPHAEL", "ABC NEWS", along with many newspaper articles and radio shows. I have had the pleasure of working with Celebrities, Royalty and people of other Countries. Being able to locate criminals of all kinds and having a hand in putting them away is something I take most pride in (some might even call it "Fugitive Hunting", I call it "job well done"). My work went further into being the first person to design a Background Check for Nanny Agencies after I had witnessed on TV a brutal beating of an infant which just tore me up inside. To this day my background checks are still in use. I also have worked famous murder cases and yes, this lady carries a gun! I had been with the company for about 10 years and was voted one of the top ten female Private Investigators. The LORD decided it was time for Mr. Rutherford to move to Texas (where he still is to this day) and I moved as well.
I have one son, JD, who is a young adult now and is just the apple of my eye. He became interested in the doll business as a result of playing around with this metal mesh meterial (it was he that got KAT'S CLOSET started creating dolls with this unique material). JD wants to be a Youth Minister someday. I home schooled him until he completed all of his classes and graduated with honors, that was pure joy for me to teach my son which is what GOD intended for a parent to do. I take HIS word to heart when we, as parents, are to "train up a child in the way he should go". I feel I have done that with much pride.
JD was coming home one day and found a beat up old Barbie/Kelly doll on the ground and brought her home and gave it to me. I have not held a doll in my hands since I was 5 years old so this was a very strange feeling for me to say the least. I sat her down on my bench for about a week. After that, I decided to take her into the bathroom and I gave her a good cleaning. I sewed her some clothes and sat her back on the bench for another week. As I pondered about what had just happened, I realized that if this doll can have a second chance at life so can I. So thus began my story into the world of OOAK dolls. JD is the other half in the doll business (because of the metal mesh/chain mail) and is now creating Metal Mesh for Action Figures which has become a huge success for him. He has been kept busy with custom orders from around the world. He even started making the LORD OF THE RINGS metal mesh/chain mail costumes for people, so he keeps pretty busy.
